Grant Smith is the director of the Washington DC based Institute for Research Middle Eastern policy (IRmep)/ IRmep is an independent nonprofit that studies U.S. policy formulation toward the Middle East. Smith’s research and analysis about trade, law enforcement and opportunity costs have appears in Antiwar.com, the Financial Times of London, Arab News, Kiplinger, Gannet, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, the New York Times, The Minneapolis Star Tribune, The Washington Report on Middle East Affairs and other specialty publications.
Smith is a frequent guest analysis on Voice of America, Radio France Internationale. He has also appeared on the BBC, C-Span, Al Jazeera, CNN and Press TV.
In 2003, Grant launched his Institute for Research Middle East Policy at a policy symposium in the Raburn House Office Building on Capital Hill warning about the grave dangers of adopting a 1996 neoconservative plan for involving the US military more deeply across the Middle East.
Grant was on The Kathleen Wells Show previously, and discussed his book: Divert! Divert details how an American company diverted/smuggled enriched uranium out of the country to Israel.
Grant’s book, Spy Trade: How Israel’s Lobby Undermines America’s Economy, shows that American’s problem is not only Israel and it’s lobby, but perhaps more dangerously blanket immunity from prosecution.
The harmful activities in which the Israel Lobby leaders engage are only possible because of their ability to corrupt US politics at every level of government.
On today's show, we discuss the national summit he co-sponsored, which aired on CSPAN, last Friday (March 7, 2014) that reassessed the US/Israel Special Relationship.
