Shahram Vahdany, poet and writer, is a long time human rights activist, who resides in Canada. He is a member of LAW (Lawyers Against the War) Co-founder of Modern Writers Community and Managing Editor at Media with Conscience.
Vahdany's grandfather and father were both members in the Shah of Iran's Army. And Shahram was the youngest to graduate from the Iranian Naval Academy at 17. He tells us his personal story of being imprisoned for treason for 18 months, fighting in the Iran-Iraq war and later, escaping Iran on horseback for 3 days, via Turkey, only to move to Canada and defend Iran against Israel's effort to engage her in war and the US application of sanctions against Iran.
Listen to his compelling, ironic and bittersweet personal and political story.
